Aromas of black cherry and raspberry fruit are backed by bitter chocolate/cocoa powder and nice touches of smoke, fresh herbs, and a hint of leather. THe same characteristics come through in the flavors. The wine finishes with good body and a nice touch of chalky tannin. Ready to drink upon release, or it will age for up to 5 years. Soft, smooth, approachable, this is easily a bottle anyone could enjoy. Easily paired with lots of different foods. Goes very well with grilled pork tenderloin, and barbequed meats.
