"Sample variation was a problem with my four separate tastings of Fieuzel, but I think it will certainly merit a score in the upper-eighties. The wine exhibits some of the vintage's tough tannin, and a lean, austere, backward style, but the dense purple color, and attractive sweet, ripe, blackcurrant fruit, interspersed with a powdered mineral-like component make for an impressively structured, long-lived example of Fieuzel. The 1996 will not make anyone forget the estate's most conspicuous performances, but it will turn out to be a very good, possibly excellent wine. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015."(Robert Parker 87-88 points)
