A complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2005 Victorian Claret is dark garnet in color, with cherry, raspberry and chocolate aromas. The flavors are similar, with medium soft tannins, and a little sweet oak. Traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then settled in oak uprights, before final aging for 15 months in French and American oak barrels. The wine pairs well with leg of lamb and lighter meat dishes. The blend of this Victorian Claret is 80% Petit Verdot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
